Bocas del Toro is a province of Panama. The capital is the city of Bocas del Toro, found on the island of Colon. The population of the province numbers some 89,300 people. Its extension is 8,745 kilometers and is formed by 9 principal islands. There are many plantation of plantains here, often called the oro verde or green gold of Central America.

The Bocas del Toro archipelago is the rising surfing star in Panama. This archipelago is a collection of ten tiny tropical islands on the Caribbean coast, near the border with Costa Rica. A favourite destination with Panama residents, is is still mostly ignored by international tourists, although it has been popular with backpackers, hippies, divers and surfers for some years now.

The archipelago offers several superb and still uncrowded waves and it has been the shooting location of Survival Series of no less than 12 different countries, including France, Spain and Italy ! Surf accommodation is offered at three locations: On the main island of Colon, next to the famous surf break of Bluff, on Careno Key, a tiny island between Colon and Bastimentos islands with its own break, and on Bastimentos island, next to the reputed beach of Red Frog.
